Emily Baum, Dallas eating disorder dietitian, offering virtual nutrition counseling and support

Hi, I’m Emily — A Dietitian Helping You Heal Your Relationship with Food

I’m a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) based in Dallas, Texas. I specialize in helping teens, college students, and adults move from food stress and guilt toward peace, flexibility, and confidence with eating.

Why I Do This Work

So often, I hear: “I just want a better relationship with food. I want to be able to go out to dinner and spend time with friends and family without worrying so much.”

For many, that desire to feel “normal” around food isn’t really about rules or nutrition—it’s about connection, experience, and memories. What I love most about my work is seeing clients rediscover food not only as fuel, but also as a source of joy and belonging.

My Journey & Experience

Before opening Emily Baum Nutrition, I worked at Children’s Health Eating Disorder Facility, Eating Recovery Center, and later built and directed the nutrition program at a Dallas eating disorder treatment center.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients at every stage of recovery—from the very first step of reaching out for help, to maintaining long-term peace and freedom with food.

My Philosophy & Values

My work is rooted in:

  • non-diet, intuitive eating approach

  • Trauma-informed care that respects the whole person

  • Equity-centered practice — every body is worthy of nourishment and care

  • Helping clients discover the value of food beyond nutrition: connection, enjoyment, and quality of life

What This Means for You

Clients I work with often describe feeling:

  • Less anxious or guilty around meals

  • More confident navigating food choices without second-guessing

  • Better able to enjoy social experiences without food stress

  • Feeling more comfortable in their body and experiencing improvements in overall health

  • Ready to spend less energy thinking about food and more energy living life

A Little About Me

When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me walking my pup around Dallas, baking in the kitchen, exploring new food spots around town, tending to my garden, or spending time with my nieces and nephews. Just like I encourage my clients, I try to make food part of the joy of life—not a source of stress.

Work With Me

I offer in-person sessions in Dallas and virtual appointments across Texas. If any part of my story or approach resonates with you, I’d love to connect.
